Age of AI

By Mico PedrigalRev. R.07

It’s amazing what AI can do today. It’s helping every industry in ways we couldn’t imagine before. Right now, we’re in the “hype phase,” where people focus on the benefits—but very few stop to ask: how will this affect us as humans?

I wasn’t around during the Industrial Revolution, but I’ve read how it changed everything—machines replaced muscles, and the world was never the same. Then came the internet revolution. Born in 1997 in a South Asian country, I grew up using analog TVs, cassette tapes, radios, and film cameras. I saw them disappear as new technologies took over.

Some industries adapted. Most didn’t.

Today, we’re living through another revolution—AI. But this time, it feels different. It can think, reason, code, draw… At the time I’m writing this, the only things it can’t do are cry or give birth 😅.

So what does this really mean for us?

It’s not fiction anymore. Most AI movies feel real now—like the latest Tom Cruise film that landed just in time for this AI arms race. I recently watched an interview with one of AI’s “godfathers,” and when asked what job is safe from AI, he answered, “Plumber.” 🤣 Funny, but there’s truth in it.

Is this really the right path forward?

Most people—including myself—believe we have to adapt. We don’t want to be left behind like the industries that didn’t ride the last wave. In the end, it’s about survival.

🎯 Final Thoughts

AI isn’t coming—it’s here. And just like the companies and people who missed the last wave, we can’t afford to ignore it.

What’s your take? Are we embracing a better future—or walking into something we don’t fully understand yet?
